Yahoo Mail Error:45 – Unable to look at old emails or emails from search results

If you come across Error:45 when accessing your Yahoo Mail account, where for a whole day or more you are unable to access old emails, there is a workaround.

Use IMAP to access your Yahoo Mail. Paid or otherwise, this solution seems to work as a temporary fix.

In this situation, Yahoo Mail was tested with Mozilla Thunderbird and the IMAP access worked well.

Thunderbird will usually only want your Yahoo email and password. These rest of the settings it can pull automatically from its ISP database.

Incoming Server – imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Server – smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Incoming Port – 993 (requires SSL)
Outgoing Port – 465 (requires SSL/TLS)
Username: your Yahoo email address
Password: your password

I am hoping Yahoo fixes these issues as lately they are becoming quite troublesome and these issues risk making an otherwise excellent email service provider close to useless.
