Video card starting to flicker at higher resolutions? Or hard drive clicking and stopping? Could be a power supply issue.

Posted on December 05, 2012 | Filed in PC Tips

Recently one of my PC monitors started to flicker when the display setting was set at maximum.

This would happen about 20 minutes after the system was booted up.

I also found that one of the hard drives on this PC started to click and stop intermittently.

It would start in a few minutes but overall one cannot really work with this going on.

The fact that the video flicker disappeared at lower display resolution settings, led me to change the power supply.

And voila! Both the video and hard drive problems were gone.
