Posted on February 11, 2013 | Filed in Featured, PC Tips

If you get a white background with your Windows XP active desktop and an error about running scripts when you try to recover the active desktop do this:

1. Click Start > Run, type regedit and hit enter
2. Inside regedit find the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Internet Explorer>Desktop>SafeMode>Components
3. Find the key DeskHtmlVersion and double click it
4. Make the Value data: 0
5. Click ok. Close regedit
6. Now refresh your desktop or restart.
